Each Branch generally meets once a month from September to May for a talk or a workshop or a visit to a record repository or some other place of interest.  Some Branches produce newsletters for their Members and many undertake projects – to transcribe and index records for example.  They sometimes organise social events or summer outings.

The Branch Notes reference document contains useful information for a Branch’s Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Members and for anyone wishing to establish a new Branch.

Branches on Social Media

Many Branches have taken their interest in family history to a wider audience through use of the social media channels available today.  You may wish to check out their Facebook Pages and Groups (some public, some closed) if you have an interest in a particular locality.
