The North of Ireland Family History Society (NIFHS) is a voluntary non profit-making organisation encouraging an interest in family history.
The objective of the Society is to foster an interest in family
history with special reference to families who have roots in the North of
Ireland and their descendants, wherever they may be.
The Society is not a Research Agency, although we do like to put people in contact with one another and share information.
The Society has the following Branches:
Ballymena,
Belfast,
Coleraine,
Fermanagh, Foyle,
Killyleagh,
Larne,
Lisburn,
Newtownabbey,
North Armagh,
North Down & Ards,
Omagh.

The Society offers two types of membership:
- Branch Membership
- for those able to attend Branch meetings, and
- Associate
Membership - for those not able to attend Branch meetings.
The NIFHS is a member of the following organisations:
The Federation of Family History Societies,
The Federation for Ulster Local Studies,
The Council of Irish Genealogical Organisations,
The Somme Association.
