NIFHS AGM 2008 - a date for your diary
The Society's Annual General Meeting will be held in the Craigavon Civic Centre on the 24th May. More details can be found here.
The Research Centre - Scottish Visitors
On Tue 4th March twelve members of Milngavie Family History Society visited our Research Centre. Randal Gill,President, Ann Robinson,Chairman and Georgie Siberry acting Gen Secretary helped our Scottish visitors with advice for their research in our Library and in other sources.
The Research Centre - TIARA visitors
A group of eighteen members of The Irish Ancestral Research Association (TIARA), led by Mary Choppa, TIARA President; Janis Duffy, TIARA Past-President and Mary Ellen Grogan, TIARA Vice-President visited our Research Centre on Wednesday 7th May. There they were met by eight members of the Society led by Randal Gill, President and Ann Robinson, Chairman. The group were welcomed by Randal Gill before everyone settled into a ‘get to know you’ and information session—helped along by light refreshments. This was followed by a visit to the Research Centre itself which was greatly admired and proved to be both of interest and informative. Again personal contact led to offers of reciprocal help in research. An enriching and enjoyable visit for both our visitors and our own members. The visit was enhanced by the superb weather—except for two members who were looking forward to rain as they got so little at home!!
The Research Centre - Saturday Opening
The Council plan to stop the Saturday opening of the Research Centre. The last Saturday opening will be on the 8th March. This will not prevent members using the research centre on Saturdays, it just means that members wishing to use the Centre on a Saturday should make prior arrangements with their Branch.

The April edition of the e-zine is now available at www.ffhs.org.uk/ezine/ezine0804.htm.
Look-Ups
The latest church records to be added to the look-up service are the following records from Inch Parish Church: Baptisms 1767-1951; Marriages 1764-1951; Deaths 1788-1976. A full list of look-ups is available here.
