North of Ireland Family History Society

North Irish Roots

Introduction

North Irish Roots was first published in 1984 as a means of informing members of the work being done by the Society; the research that members are involved in and items of interest to the membership. It is published twice a year in the spring and the autumn, final copy dates for inclusion in the spring and autumn journals are 31st January and 30th July respectively. Submissions from members to the journal are welcomed and fall into two categories of material - Articles and Profiles

Articles - The Editorial Team welcome contributions from members of items of interest to family historians with roots in the North of Ireland. Members can submit articles by post to the address listed here or by e-mail to the editor listed here

Profiles - When joining the Society or when renewing membership either as a branch member or an associate member, members are offered the opportunity of completing a profile form to register their interests with the society. The form allows a member to register brief details of their interest in up to ten surnames, with the associated geographical area and time period under Members' Interests. It also gives the opportunity to register a special query of up to fifty words. The profile form also offers the opportunity of entering into a reciprocal research arrangement, where members can register details of the research they require and the research they will undertake in return. These details will then appear in the next available Journal. Currently it is also possible to place members' interests on the website.

A Profile Form is used to submit Members' Interests, Queries and Reciprocal Research. To download a profile form: in Word format click here, or in HTM format click here.
