Irish strays found in all UK Census Vol 1

Our latest microfiche contains 2142 records of Irish persons recorded as resident in the U.K. at the time of the various censuses.  The records have been reproduced as received by many contributors.  Please note however that it has not been possible to check the reliability of the information.  This is the first of several volumes which we plan to issue.  We currently have over 10,000 strays including items from the records of censuses, births, marriages, deaths and monumental inscriptions.

Our thanks to Mrs. Yvonne Hobson, a Belfast Branch member who alone has been responsible for all the data processing involved in this first volume.  Currently a group of volunteers are working on the next volumes.

Baptisms & Burials Register

 from Carnmoney Parish Church, Co.Antrim

The Belfast Branch has produced a new microfiche of 1370 Baptisms from 10.10.1869 to 4.11.1920 and 3300 Burials from 21.10.1845 to 1.10.1959 recorded in the registers of the Carmoney Parich Church (Church of the Holy Evangelists), Church Road, Carnmoney, Co. Antrim, N.Ireland.

Besides complimenting our previous fiche "Carved in Stone" which contains the gravestone inscriptions of the ancient graveyard surrounding the above church, the records of this new fiche include:-

for Baptisms:     the date of birth as well as the baptism date, the parent's name, their home address and the father's occupation

for Burials        :    the residence at the time of death and the age of the deceased are given

The residences mentioned in these registers stretch from Belfast to South Antrim and the persons recorded here were of different religious persuasions.  This fiche should prove useful to anyone researching in this area.
