Buy a DNA kit and get the best prices available on FamilyTreeDNA kits!
The North of Ireland Family History Society promotes DNA testing by offering FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA) kits at discounted prices. In addition, if you live in the United Kingdom, we will post your kit to you free of charge.
We can usually provide a discount on all DNA tests throughout the year.
During sales we can match the discounted prices but can’t provide any additional discounts.
You don’t have to be a member of the Society to avail of these discounts and people around the world can also take advantage of our discounts.
FTDNA tests don’t expire for decades so you may wish to stock up on kits at sale prices – the names of the testers can be added later.
The Society does not make any money from the sale of DNA kits. We bulk buy kits when they are discounted and pass on the savings to you if you purchase through us.
Why do we promote FTDNA kits?
- FTDNA provides the best tools for DNA comparison, such as a chromosome browser, family matching and matches’ maps.
- FTDNA has the most testers with confirmed Irish ancestry.
- It is not a subscription site – once you have tested with FTDNA all the tools and DNA information is available for free.
- We host some of our Projects on FTDNA, allowing specific DNA matching benefits.
- FTDNA provides free Y-DNA haplogroups for all male testers and haplogroups for Mt-DNA are coming later.
- FTDNA is the only site to offer Y-DNA and mitochondrial matches.
How to order a DNA test:
Email DNA enquiries on our Contact Page with the type of test you are enquiring about.
We will reply with the best available price and ask if you want to proceed. If so, we need the address to post the kit to and the tester’s name if known.
Next we set up the order and advise you how to make payment.
Once paid for, we post your kit to you.
