During the Coronavirus Emergency monthly Branch Meetings in physical venues cannot be held.  The use of digital meetings is being actively researched with the aim of giving members a forum for their interests and research during the restrictions.

To join a Branch you should introduce yourself by email to the Branch Secretary whose e-mail address is included on the Branch’s page.  Details about the Branch’s activities and Subscription method will be given.   Membership of the Society confers a number of Benefits.

In normal times each Branch generally meets once a month from September to May for a talk or a workshop or a visit to a record repository or some other place of interest.  Some Branches produce newsletters for their Members and many undertake projects – to transcribe and index records for example.  They sometimes organise social events or summer outings.

The Branch Notes reference document contains useful information for a Branch’s Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Members and for anyone wishing to establish a new Branch.

Branches on Social Media

Many Branches have taken their interest in family history to a wider audience through use of the social media channels available today.  You may wish to check out their Facebook Pages and Groups (some public, some closed) if you have an interest in a particular locality.
