Unlocking your family history
The Society holds and maintains a wide range of resources in our Research Centre in Newtownabbey.
They range from transcriptions of church records to published books and include many unique records not available elsewhere.
The Research Centre page contains all the information you need for visiting the Centre and an overview of the resources you can find there.
The Resources section is packed with ways to help you research your family history from the Searchable Index to what is available in our Research Centre.
When you have explored all the available records on external search sites and have drawn a blank in your research, it is often a niche record set that can unlock the path to more discoveries.
The Society has transcribed many record sets that cannot be found elsewhere. Mourning Cards, Notes from Canada and Ballynure Old Graveyard Headstones are a small sample of unique records to be found in our Research Centre. You can explore them below.
The Society has published a series of booklets to help you research specific places or topics. Visit our Shop to see the full range.
