“WikiTree” – Anne Johnston
Anne Johnston is well known to Society members for her involvement in various NIFHS projects and for leading courses throughout the year, one of which is on WikiTree of which she is an extensive user. WikiTree is a website where people collaborate to build a single family tree whereas other family history websites allow members to create their own family trees meaning the same person is likely to appear on many family trees. The aim of WikiTree is that a person appears only once. Different people can enter information or suggest corrections to information already entered.
Maybe you have searched WikiTree for a person but have you gone beyond that to enter data and create new records or edit records already there? Do you understand the process of moderation to try to ensure accuracy of records? Anne will try to explain these mysteries for us.
