The wealth of resources available in the Society’s Research Centre is extensive and the Library List is a compilation of records and publications held.
Some of the collections named in the Library List contain sub sets of records and many of these, along with Church and Graveyard Records have been indexed.
The Searchable Index contains some of these indexed record sets, available for anyone to search. Members of the Society can then use the Look Up Service to request more information from the full transcriptions if they are unable to visit the Research Centre in person.
Transcriptions are constantly being added to the Library and the Searchable Index is constantly being updated so it is worth checking them from time to time.
Many record sets cannot be found elsewhere. Mourning Cards, Notes from Canada and Ballynure Old Graveyard Headstones are a small sample of unique records to be found in our Research Centre. Click on the links to see full transcriptions.
The Society’s twice yearly Journal, NI Roots is a fantastic source of information and references. All issues up to 2022 have been indexed and Members have access to this Guide so they can easily search for items of interest and then access the articles online at JSTOR or in the Research Centre.
Our Members receive a regular e-newsletter with updates on the Society, events and informative articles about a wide range of family history related articles.
The Society has published a series of books and booklets to help you to research specific places or topics. Visit our Shop to see the full range.
If you are just getting started with your family history research, we have a number of forms to help you get organised.
