19th Century Women from the Vote to the First World War. Talk by Claire McWhirter from The Somme Association. 19th century women were remarkable for both the restrictions within which they operated and for all they achieved despite them. This presentation will look at the fight to be heard and how the First World War was a time of huge social change.
