6) Branch Meetings – members may attend any of our Branches. Meetings are held in locations throughout the North of Ireland. Meet and make friends with others who enjoy this fascinating hobby

Membership

The society offers two types of membership:

1) BRANCH MEMBERSHIP - This type of membership is for those people who can attend meetings of their nearest Branch. Each Branch has an annual fee which entitles members to attend meetings in that Branch but also allows them to attend meetings held by any of the other Branches. Branch Membership runs from September to June each year. This entitles you to the two journals of North Irish Roots published during those months – usually late Autumn and late Spring. Each Branch has a varied programme of monthly meetings with specialist speakers, research evenings, trips to record offices, visits to our Library etc. The members are very friendly, and the more experienced are glad to help the inexperienced. To join as a Branch Member, please go to your nearest Branch and join there. Details of your nearest venue and next meeting can be obtained here.

OR

2) ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - This is for members who are unable to attend Branch meetings but wish to be involved in the Society. Associate Membership runs from January to December each year. This entitles you to the two journals of North Irish Roots published during that year - usually late Spring and late Autumn. Please note – even if you join towards the end of a season, you cannot join for part of a year. Associate Membership also entitles you to submit a Profile Form. The Profile Form provides space to include Member's Interests, Queries and Offers of Reciprocal Research. This information is subsequently published in the Journal which reaches members in over fourteen countries worldwide. For application and other forms relating to Associate Membership / to JOIN or RENEW as an Associate Member click here (join/renew as Associate Member).

Please note: we aim to respond as quickly as possible, but owing to the voluntary nature of NIFHS it may not be immediate so please bear with us – we will respond to all enquiries made!
