Andrew Jackson & Sam Houston – An Ulster-Scots partnership that changed America for ever – George McGrand | Newtownabbey Branch

The presentation will cover both men’s family histories in Ulster and America, childhood similarities, their military and political careers, their funerals, grave sites and legacies.
George is the tour guide at the Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Rangers Museum in Carrickfergus and has had a long career working in environmental and social projects in the UK, Africa, USA and the Philippines.
