Ever wondered if there’s a famous name hiding in your family tree?
The well known people below have joined the Great North of Ireland Family Tree project. They have agreed to take a DNA test and to let NIFHS research their ancestors and add them to Wikitree.
You could be related to one of them!
Search your autosomal DNA matches on FamilyTreeDNA and if one of them appears, you can click on the tree icon to the right of the match name to explore their family tree and try to identify your common ancestor.
They may also have taken a Y-DNA test or a mitochondrial test so look out for them in your match list.
Some of the celebrities agreed to take part in our “We know who you are” series. They took a DNA test and NIFHS researched their ancestors. Follow the link to see what happens when we reveal their results to them for the first time!
Our Famous Faces’ family trees have been added to WikiTree. As profiles of living people are only public if they are categorised officially as notable, we have provided a link to ancestors in their family tree whose profile is publicly accessible so you can see if you are connected.
If you have added your tree to Wikitree , you can use their Connection Finder to see if there is a link to you!
